Trades 04/03/14

Lessons:

  • AVOID THE CROWDED SHORTS (EG $PLUG)
  • CUT LOSSES QUICKLY
  • CUT LOSSES QUICKLY
  • CUL LOSSES QUICKLY

$PLUG $FCEL taught me a valuable lesson today - with these super liquid, heavily shorted stocks, I should either just watch for now, or at least wait for them to settle, refrain from the temptation to trade them in the first 30-60 minutes, especially not with the kind of size I traded them today.
Best to trade them later in the day when support/resistance levels have been formed and you have a better set r/r
Then came $ZBB - was meant to be a quick flip - i was up $50 and was hoping for more; So i held, and added, and held and added and of course got squeezed to death.
Only worthwhile if I make sure this doesnt happen again
First down day since I started Jan 7th, -$2500 (-$3500 on $ZBB)
Other than that $ZBB trade i was up $1k on the day ...

Longs Trades:

$ARTX - trying small on this grind -$16 meh had to at least try
$DSCR on news +$182
$FULL +$38 on $CANN
$SPIR .85 for swing
$WMIH swing
$ONCS .85 meant for gapper but got too crowded +$85
$ELTP same +$86
$TUNCD tiny 1.15 for gapper
$HIPP .375 swing

Short Trades

$OXBT 8.5 risk
$OXBT +$232 overall,
$50 premarket

+$18

+$50

$OXBT 7.75 risk, 7.25 target

covered half 7.40s, added back 7.5, covered all 7.32 +$182

$LIVE +$113 total

$DANG +$289 overall

$PLUG -$20 overall holy crap i traded it again so poorly, down -$500 unrealised managed to reduce my losses, but clearly i'm not ready for these super momentum ones yet

$ARTX would have been much nicer at 4.20, but here r/r is decent still, 4 risk, g/r move target -$50
$SUNE 22.75 riskv -$14
$FCEL -$227 well premature - will learn to wait til eod for these plays

+$220

$YOD covered half, then rest on bounce +$75
$ZBB -$3500
I'd usually cover at 1.20 or 1.15 and move on

Clearly it was holding support and not breaking down

And then it really squeezed - all along I kept adding until covering right at the bell ...
