Trades 26/12/14

Longs:

$GILD nice buy on that pullback

$ATOS traded it 3 times, first time bought on a dip, not great avg; sold for b/e once it looked like it was propped up by fake bids; went back in when it curled with vol; just about broke even in the end on that trade, finally longed for eod move, sold half on the pop for a profit, half for b/e on the pull; being patient here actually hurt me bottom line ... struggling to find the balance.

$ZAZA on a pull - i suppose i should have bailed after numerous attempts to break out failed

$SYNC bought some anticipating a hod break - worked like a charm;

$SYNC re-bought on that dip, sold half for scratch and half for 10c

$JOB tried some on the pull, in case we get an eod run

Shorts:

$WATT 10.10 risk; really didnt have a very good reason to be short;

$NAVB with 2 risk; shamefully i got rid of most for b/e ish to focus on other plays; it turned out to be a nice fader, had i kept my position i wouldnt have needed to trade any other tickers ...

$NQ chased some in the am and covered on a wash to 4;

$NQ re-shorted on a big pop

Trades 24/12/14

Pretty decent trading this short session - $NQ long out the gate, had i had more patience it would have been the "one trade" (meaning one trade executed well that pays for the entire day), alas I wasnt patient. At least I was patient with the short;
Other than that, scalped ZAZA a few times, with 500sh in/out for $20 at a time, it added up

Longs:

$NQ nicely timed, took profits on that pull - nice rip followed

$ACHN

$ZAZA bought some on the pull, added lower and sold on a rip

$ZAZA again, this time it was perking off base; got out when it couldnt make nhod; it burst thru that hod a minute later

$ZAZA and again, on a pull - sold half on a pop, half for b/e

$ZAZA 4th time

$ZAZA 5th

Shorts:

$NQ with 5 risk, covered half on a mini-flush, other half when it grinded up; reshorted immediately after covering seeing it was getting heavy; covered half on a flush, and added it back on a little pop; covered half at 4.60 and added it back on a pop, and rest for b/e when it was grinding against me; reshorted when it was topping at 4.80 and covered half on a quick flush, rest on the way down as it faded

$TECU silly bottom short, was never going to work - scrapped it for -2c

Trades 23/12/14

Decent trading today considering it felt like there wasn't much going on.
$TECU could have been a day destroyer, gladly I switched my long into a short to recoup the losses on the long (this usually doesnt work, but it did on this huge-range stock); This trade again re-emphasized the importance of staying focused the entire session - one slip, one badly timed entry and you can lose all the day's gains

Longs:

$NQ 4.05 with 4 risk for nhods; worked well; longed again on hod break, added on a dip, expecting a push to 4.50+ - it came, i sold half and was too patient with other half. sometimes patience works for you, sometimes against you ... bought shortly thereafter when 4.35 held; cut it evenishl trade no.4 at 4.31 with 4.30 basing

$OCN on higher lows; worked well

$TECU on a pull and perk off base; sold half on a pop, then it collapsed and become ugly and spready; added when it started to base and looked ready for another push up; it didnt, i sold at 4 and then shorted; covered half 3.77 rest in the 3.50-3.60s to overall finish up on this awful trade

Shorts:

$OVAS with $45 risk only 100sh; covered half for $1, rest at b/e; missed one heck of a fade

$SKH from w/l with 8.9 risk; a small win

$CERS looks weak 6.6 risk; covered half on a wash, rest on a grind up

$VNDA with .60 risk; added to a winner and lowered risk to .50; covered a few for a profit,and was too patient with rest, stopped out; shorted again later when prior support at .20 became resistance; failed again; tried for the third time on a bounce and fail to break 14; finally a decent trade on it

$OCN looks a bit extended here. .60 risk; worked nicely;

$OCN eod shorted again on a para and covered for 20-30c

Trades 22/12/14

Poor trading again today, not focused enough, overtraded, wasnt patient enough with entries (RE $CERS)
Tomorrow I will revert to the "no trading the first 30 minutes rule". Will try it a few days and see how I go. I have been trading some of the quick reactionary setups well lately, however on a whole I think it will force me to wait for the right setups.
Also "arbitrage" plays on oil stocks (vs the index) don't seem to work anymore (re $BAS $OAS) so i am done with those.

Longs:

$BAS tried twice to buy on a pull, first time took a hit, second time partial fill

$CUBA - wasnt patient with initial entry (and bailed before hitting my stop), second entry worked better; longed again later, only 100sh and sold on a pop

$ADXS with .60 risk; like how it's holding a base, could spike and test hods; sold half .89, holding rest for 7 test; looked fadish so took rest off; later longed it again, when it was holding a higher base; nicely done again, sold into that 7 break; late day longed again when it was holding higher lows; sold when it couldnt make nhods

$FOLD first trade i was trying a hod rejection, covered and went long when it broke nhods

$CUBA longed eod when everyone was short, predictable squeeze

Shorts:

$CERS the big mess up of the day; shorted on a tiny pop out the gate, didnt take small profit when i had some, instead, added to loser, didnt cut it quickly enough and ended with bigger losers ... sounds familiar, somehow i cant escape making this mistake over and over; it did set up later perfectly, i made a few bucks back, but that's just the different between waiting for the setup to come to you and forcing it

$OAS with .80 risk; didnt work

$FRO missed the good entries in the am, chased some; covered half on a mini-flush

$CNET I was long for a 1.55 break and move towards highs, didnt work, took 5c loss. Shorted it later on failing to break above 1.55, covered most for a small profit, rest on a pop

$OPK 9.8 risk

Trades 19/12/14

Pooor trading today, was up 250+ on gappers and made a few good trades out the gate, and then gave a bunch back. Pretty upset with how I traded $NQ, shoulda woulda been the slam dunk trade of the day, just had to be patient and wait for the open instead of starting in early in premarket; easy, predictable 70c that should have been
$CERS i messed up very badly, had a nice trade in the am, and then all subsequent trades were chases;
Oil I kept trading even though i told myself five times to stop trading them as i wasnt doing a good job at it; especially poor was my $BAS trade

Longs:

$AGEN $APP had position o/n which I sold for a nice profit; $AGEN was a no brainer setup, APP I'm a bit upset about, reasons for longing o/n were good, however my avg was 1.02 and after the close it was down at .97; so when it gapped in the AM to 1.03 i took most off ... had i not been aware of being down unrealised i would have probably stuck to the plan and sold in the mid 1 teens. Emotions got the better of me on that setup

$IMGN 5.50 risk; nice rip sold for 15-20c; longed again on trend, sold half for 10c and rest for +15c, nicely done, except perhaps a little more patience would have been nice

$ZAGG looking for g/r move; got it

$AGEN bought this long setup; wasnt quick enough to cut it

Shorts:

$CERS 6.9 risk covered in the 70s; reshorted later and covered for a loss; shoudl have covered when it didnt breakdown at .60; reshorted at .80 with .85 risk; messed that up too, shorted on weakness which is a no-no

$NQ what a crappy avg i had premarket instead for waiting til the open ... it then came back, didnt add to a lower higher and covered for a profit

$FMD shorted 5.10 and added on 5 break, covered half 4.70, added at 5ish

$DNR $GDP on oil weakness; DNR worked ok GDP not so much

$IMGN shorted that push to 6.25; nicely done.

$DNR $BAS $GDP short again with hod risk; BAS awful, should have left it alone. DNR woudlnt break; BAS at least i stopped out early, otherwise coudl have turned into one nasty(ier) loss; GDP i cut at hod

Trades 18/12/14

Traded well this am, small size, scalping only as I didn't have any incredible setups to trade

Longs:

$AGEN on news premarket, figured it could move given the latest bio movers

$ISNS on $DGLY - no go, sold for a small loss
$RAD long on a pull - nice one

$CUBA long on a pull

$OVAS tiny long with $46 risk; nicely timed

$SIMG with 5 risk; took quick 10c

Shorts:

$ADXS

$DGLY was too early

$AGEN with 4 risk, looks like it will pull

$ZAGG with hod risk; worked well, needed patience; shew, nice covers. I usually focus on trades where lack of patience had costed me money, nice to highlight a trade where it actually saved me from going back to even

$BAS $AREX on oil pull; covered half for a profit, half for breakeven when oil boucned; missed a nice fade on AREX

$SIMG 5.10 risk, looking for 20-30c; gave it a few minutes, big bids turned up at 5.01 so i covered flat
