Summary of Trading:

Quick session today - had plans for the afternoon, closed $RGSE position and made a quick trade on $OHGI $ABIO

P&L:

Trades:

$RGSE had some o/n 4.47 avg, covered in pre at 3.50s

$OHGI didn't open very strong, knew certain guru would sell and sheep will follow, so I took a small pre-preemptive short

$ABIO could have been more patient but had to run

Summary of Trading:

Only traded $CBLI today as I had other things scheduled for the day

P&L: $1358

Trades:

$CBLI first buys where small and chase size jic it goes parabolic before the open, rest of adds were larger and on dips. sold most before the open then bought the open dip and sold into the subsequent rip. rebought later when it was holding support, but had to leave my desk so I sold. guess I should have set a trailing stop on it ...

$CBLI  again

Summary of Trading:

$SGYP $AMCN both traded erratically this am, not sure if it's summer trading or what, glad I stayed away at the open from both

Good trades on $LOOK (long and short) and gift $UEC made it into a great day.
Also no losers for first time possibly ever.

P&L: $1025

Trades:

$AMCN took a few shares short before they run out at IB with 5.20 stop; took peanuts on this 5 u/o action, IB still has borrows; well i'd probably have covered into the morning spike, so cant complain how it washed after

$HNR only filled half after saw big blocks at 2, alas sold rather quickly too

$POZN took some 11.16 and added on g/r; covered 1/3 at 11ish when it dips were bought; another 1/3 into a r/g pop; added back when it seemed weak again, then covered when it perked; it's not ready yet

$LOOK should really have avoided given the awful volume, got lucky and sold into the first pop, if vol comes back will look to get back in

$LOOK I then shorted, wanted half, and then added another half over 1 but didnt get my fill; nice covers

$UEC took largish position post-halt, stock down %30 and the refuted the (probably true) allegations; sold most for 5c, tried to let last 1/4 run a little ; probably goes much higher, but i'm finished for the week now

Summary of Trading:

Annoyed with how undisciplined I was this morning, I literally had a stick note saying "do not trade $SGYP out the gate" and I did. Badly.
Taking rest of the day off, too annoyed, and don't want to make silly revenge trades.
My instincts are either poorer or I've just not adjusted to summer trading mode yet.
I will probably be taking it easy until September, ideally my plan was to increase position sizes on the better setups, but that I see now would have to wait until after summer.

-- update --
as I was writing this, had started into shorting $LTRE, my first entry was small and awful so I thought I'd cut it at $2, instead added nicely into pops and covered into flushes

P&L: $614

Trades:

$SGYP had some o/n and sold in pre

$SGYP bought on upgrade news, just quick scalps

$SGYP another tiny scalp

$SGYP I said to myself I'll leave it alone, too volatile, alas didn't listen, wasn't disciplined enough and gave back profits and then some, traded it awfully, buying tops selling bottoms; Went from up $300+ to down $150

P&L

-- Update ---
$LTRE awful first entry, but then read it really well and shorted into pops with vwap as risk; used relatively large size too given the good r/r; First entry was with 500sh then added 1000 on the pops, covered 1/3 at 1.9 then most of the rest at 1.81 with just 500 at 1.75ish

Summary of Trading:

Majorly messed up $SGYP - reminder that patience doesn't always work; didnt lock +$200 in pre, instead let it grind against me, and then made a wrong decision before the open to go long.
Other than that some better trading today

P&L: $716

Trades:

$SGYP tiny in pre

$SGYP back in - plan was to stay small and wait for the 8am volume instead of selling into the grind. See, patience doesn't always pay off. I later added when "they" seemed to have been absorbing at 7, added as trend held (higher lows) with risk 6.90; sold most when it couldnt hold 7.20s; added back when trend held again, with 7 risk; sold rest of position when big bidder at 7.10 was getting chipped away, gave back most of earlier gains

$CRMD flipped some on news only filled 300sh at 5.30 sold 5.79

$CRMD rebought when it looked perky; glad I didnt overstay my welcome, negative tweet from Adam F and it bombed

$SGYP bought some when it perked, plan to hold into the open; well that was a royal f*ck up; at least i cut my losses relatively quickly

$CRMD shorted small

$MNKD was short o/n added a few at the open

$ANTH longed some on the weak open r/g

$HIMX o/e daily, tried once under vwap and cut it when it had gone above it. Tried again shortly thereafter; risk to vwap, looking for g/r move; nice covers and nice adds, but support held too many times so I covered

$MDW on $FREE/$AXPW renewed strength

$ANTH gave back earlier gains taking the stupid trade (argh, first one had great r/r and reason behind it, this one was "just in case it breaksdown", which never works); at least i cut it quickly

$DSKX tiny into this para

$ANTH final trade for the day, had only 250sh due to poor entry, but it REALLY looked like it was about to breakdown. 9.30 risk

Summary of Trading:

Again today my trading wasn't great. Better than yesterday, but still, not adjusted to the lighter volume and didnt respect rules which cost me dearly on $ANTH.
Obv $FREE o/n win made the day. Should have really stopped there and not have made further trades (as per my rules) alas I ignored my rules.

$USD P&L: $1710

Trades:

$FREE had some o/n which I sold in a/h in the 8s and in pre in the 10s ... sure, upsetting seeing it hitting .20s but this really was up on nothing, HAD to take 50% gains

$ANTH another complete mess of  trade; plan was to short pops to 8.9 with 9 risk ... instead i shorted on weakness and paid the price. Ended up covering where initially wanted to short ... made some back with shorting near original plan

$GBSN nicely traded, small size though

$KOOL traded long and short

$MDW chased the cheapies mania, tried to be patient, but then vol dried out, not much continued momentum, so i bailed

$ALTC illiquid pos I was swinging

P&L: (Please note the sum is in GBP but individual trades in USD)

Summary of Trading:

Just one of those days, with some patience on my trades in pre this could have been a much more straightforward and profitable day; had I respected rules/stops too... however I should always remember that patience doesn't always work. So while I left a tonne on the table % wise on $RDHL $AXPW, you never know in advance what kind of a move a stock would pull...

On gappers I was just sloppy on Friday, $MOBI was so over extended and I took it over the weekend pretty much at hods avg ... recipe for disaster. Set me up for a poor start for the day after those small gains in pre; I then was in the wrong mindset, trading less than perfect setups trying to go green on the day. Sometimes it works, but not on slow days like today.

Also need to start adjusting to Summer Trading - trades I made today based on pre-planned trades ($KZ $INPH $AOI $ONTY) rather than reactionary ones ($BLFS $NURO $SYMX) worked much better, as the latter ones, when there's not enough volume behind them they will not act as they have done in the past few weeks

Some very poor trading in general today, need to brush it off and be better prepared for tomorrow. Not take unnecessary trades.

$USD P&L: -$1100

Lessons:

  • Gappers - only take Day1 runners, not day3+ ($MOBI)

Trades:

$RDHL bought 100 in pre on news; in 17.5 out 19ish, could go higher but have to leave my machine for now; not annoyed at all now it's hitting 23; sometimes patience works for you, sometimes against you, in premarket i still believe in quick profits

$AXPW right in the kisser ... bought .038 sold .04 in pre ... another one i took pennies on ended moving to... .14 last time I checked. oh well

$APT had some over the w/e., and got a lucky fill at the 8am jiggle (2.82 from 2.62 entry)

$CBLI had some over the w/e, sold half for profit Friday a/h and this am for a loss

$MOBI painful painful loss there - held over the w/e poor avg and relative big size (1500sh) sold at the open for a hefty loss and didnt quite recover

$NURO took some long premarket; hadnt realised it was "artificial" volume by some chat room; still, it was the only stock "in play" for me out the gate so I took a position when it showed strength, but didnt cut it quickly enough; couldnt have traded it any poorer - top tick buy, and bottom tick sell

$ONTY finally cracked, I was there for it, not as big position as I would have wanted, but at least I didnt miss it

$AOI had some over the w/e short, added a little at the open and covered some into pulls and some into strength as it does have a tendency to recover from sharp pulls

$INPH was my no.1 watch today, again didn't get quite the size I wanted, shorted the open, added on the low vol climb and covered a little at 1 and most lower (had some 1.15s which dont show on the chart); overall disappointed with this trade as I wanted to nail it with big size

$BLFS had the right idea, I panic covered some into a pop to ruin an otherwise good trade, but had to stay safe there

$RTNB nibbled a little on pumpstopper negative report

$OGEN chase here on hod break, should squeeze; good read on this one, good add too

$SYRX initial reaction was to short, then flipped it for an almost top tick long ... finally later in the day i shorted again and made some of the losses back

$KZ was on my w/l but it gapped down so I ignored it; provided perfect entry which I've missed, shorted when it dropped under vwap and covered for a small profit, reshorted on a little pop

$ORPN another shocking trade, bad chase to begin with, then poor s/s entry; the add was decent, but got out on a pop instead of respecting 7.50 as a stop; and how it faded from there. Just one of those days.
