Very poor trading today - started off badly with a poor entry with size on $IG ... and that paved the way to more poor decisions. I have this tendency to have a bad day if my first few trades aren't profitable, today was one of those days.
Let myself get squeeeeezed on $IG , and just held and hoped they'd come down eventually. Brilliant trading. Covered eod for a loss on it - had opportunities to get out with -$200 but ended up not taking them, wishing for more dumpage, and of course if you dont cover on washes you get squeezed ... what a difference a day makes in trading.
Lessons:
- WAIT for the setups, be patient with entries ... damn I find it so difficult
- No tiny "just in case" chases - if the setup is not perfect, don't trade it; a bad setup with a small position can soon turn into a big loss
- Don't short a trend change or any other setup near hod
- Trade your bread and butter (ie not shorting into para)
Longs:
$ODP
$GDP chase on oils, could rip though, chase entry so tight stop; left it too long to fade before i cut it at 4 ...
$GDP tried again later on oils bounce, this time worked better
$TPLM bought some and intended to add on trend break, didnt happen, cut it flat
Shorts:
$SPLS intend to short on pops with .50 risk
$IG - just tragic, bad entry, let a small loss turn into a big one ... many rules broken
$APT on $LAKE
$ABIO failed first try, ok next turn
$ARIA with 6.85 risk; gave up on it too soon - was great setup but higher lows scared me away; this shoulda woulda my only play today, shorting pops covering washes
