Another day of mediocre overtrading - $LL puts saved my day, otherwise disappointed with $WGBS trades, $BIOC I scalped well but lacked the conviction to hold for a big move
$SGNL as ever lacked the conviction and missed the big move;
This was my morning session. One of my rules is when I hit my target I walk away; I didnt, and the rest of the day was a huge and utter mess, traded well too many tickers and then came $PCYC - ,
since I've been doing pretty well recently with options trading I went a little bit too big and into unfamiliar territory (huge spread and very pricey options) and it cost me all of today's profits and then some;
The final few minutes with $CLRX and $SGNL trades made up for the losses gladly and I've ended up in the green
Lessons:
- Don't buy the spready costly options!
- Hit your target for the day, be VERY SELECTIVE about trades (a-la $CLRX eod)
Trades:
$BIOC in pre - had to take profits as had prior engagements
$GENE shorted a few in pre 6.80s
$BIOC again in pre
$WGBS in pre on news; couldnt be too long biased due to them having warrants at 5 etc, but was worth a quick flip and see how it acts at the open
$WGBS another tiny buy before the open
$CAPN had some o/n , poor 6.60s avg, got rid of it premarket
$BIOC 3
$WGBS again on a dip - ahhhhhh gave most of my gains back here on that first trade; didnt cut it soon enough. Made some back on subsequent trade, but from being up $150 on it on the day, ended down $30. This top tick buy was avoidable
$HMNY quick scalp; so scary and spready, took my money and ran
$APRI - tried long first, then switched to short, with hod risk, trying to be patient with it; wasnt going my way so I cut it in case it pops on me
$BIOC 4
$SSH bought a few on a dip
$SSH tried again - gave back gains, waited for a pop at least after that big dump
$LL bought some puts, wasnt quite quick enough but made a few $$$ to make my day, phew
$CLRX chase size, was planning on adding lower, but took the quick dime
$CLRX again - gave some back
$SGNL tried but it didnt quite work
$SGNL spotted another buying sgnl here; lull trading - taken it off for no reason, actually had conviction but didnt act on it, there had to have been a reason why it held them 3.05s, perhaps next time set a stop at 3 ...
$TGTX took some calls on $PCYC move, worked well
$PCYC blarg, traded it with 10 shares at time, and ended down $100; then bought some very pricey options and had a nasty $800 loss on those; lesson here is to stick with the lower priced ones ... where i risk $500, not a $2500 position like i had here
$BIOC two failed long attempts here; at least i respected my stop

$BIOC now it worked
$SGNL made some back, looked like a good setup
$CLRX bought some eod in the 1.90s sold most in the 2.10s - seemed like a crowded trade so might take just 500 o/n ... then dodged the bullet a/h, saw the price drop and sold those 500 for a tiny loss
$SGNL shorted eod - was going to hold o/n - glad i covered!
