Trades 22/01/15

Decent trading today apart from $NERV

$ADXS puts paid the bills and I didn't see any exciting setups to stick around for once I hit my daily goal.

Update:
I did come back and made (plenty) more trades, ended up with extra $100 p&l wise, but I suppose at least I got some more practice

Traded $AVP well and $ZIOP awfully

Lessons:

  • Avoid scaling into a short on a grind, ideally wait for a pop and/or round/half number stuff (re $FXCM)

Trades:

$CYTR in pre on news s/s; bad chase avg, so covered 500 for a loss, hoping to add 500 on a pop out the gate; added and covered along the way;

$CYTR re-entered with 3.1 risk, when it looked like it could do a red flush

$ADXS nice top fill, shame only 36 shares, damn you SSR! also sold all my remaining puts, not at ideal prices ... but did ok

$NERV messed up, kept chasing and revenge trading; until i finally waited for a good entry and made it back with a tiny bit of change, shame, should have been a good play;

$TKMR small position long on negative  streetsweeper; too small a position and got out too quickly ..

$TWTR some calls for quick scalps (not home runs)

$ADXS bought the FDA approval thinking it will squeeze some shorts, instead it was sold into heavily, lost a few pennies;

$TWTR nicely executed on 50 shares :)

$ZIOP like this for a swing with 7.4 risk; blarg; flat line is not a s/s opportunity; should have waited for that 7.4 pop; bad bad trade

$AVP traded some shares and calls for a nice trade, not too patient with shares as was with calls (trades with shitty IB chart)

$AVP then turned short biased,  s/s on lower high, with .8 risk; nice trade, got out with .50 held u/o too many times

$AVP tried again on this big push, .80 risk again

$BBRY shorted some commons and bought some puts on takeover denial

$FXCM had no borrows so bought some 2.5 puts on the ramp from 3 to 3.5; kept a few, made a little bit on the ones i sold; started in a bit too early, on a grind instead of pop or round number o/u

$NVGN bought the news, low float beaten stock, might hold some o/n; but news seemed so dodgy I couldnt bring myself to hold o/n; scrap that, took tiny bit o/n on a pull with 2.5 risk
